The heyday has passed, but the game still counts

High school baseball has been a key ingredient in Key West since the end of World War II. Along the way, Key West High School has earned 11 state championships. The sport is so important that it has spawned a youth baseball complex that takes care of all aspiring players from the time they can hold a bat until they're eligible to try out for the high school team.
