Keep an eye out for turtle nests
Turn off outdoor lights, pick up beach chairs

Turtle conservation groups are putting out the annual plea for coastal residents to turn off their outdoor lights and pick up their beach chairs when they are done sunbathing.

Beach chairs can block hatchlings' path to the water. The juvenile turtles can also be confused by lights, causing them to crawl toward land, instead of toward the sea.
