City hails ruling on gay marriage

Key West, a tiny oasis of gay acceptance in a sea of red states, welcomed Wednesday's significant U.S. Supreme Court ruling on same-sex marriage as a civil rights milestone.

"It's huge," said Dan Skahen, a real estate broker who with his partner, Wayne LaRue Smith, in 2008 became the first gay men in Florida allowed to adopt children. "It has to start somewhere."
