Former Key West resident Jack W. Kelly Sr., 59, died June 25, 2013, at the Legacy House in Ocala, Florida, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born on November 7, 1953, to John F. Kelly who preceded him in death and Beverly (Wallace) Sweeting. He is survived by his wife, Mary (Gonzalez) Kelly; children Brandie, Brittany, Jack Jr. and Stephen Kelly; his sister Marsha (John) Kolmonen; two brothers, Michael (Norma) Kelly and Steve (Mari) Kelly; nieces and nephew Kelly Ann (Purcell) Kolmonen, Michelle (Aaron) Powell, Meggan (Josh) Mills, Shawna (Jose) Morales, and Caleb Hiller; aunt Gail Diaz; uncle Peter Diaz; and numerous cousins he treasured and loved tremendously.

Jack was proud to be a Conch and prouder to be a member of the 5 Brothers Grocery and Sandwich Shop's "bench crew." He was a member of Dr. Felix Varela Lodge No. 64, Dade Lodge No. 14 and Scottish Rite of Free Masonry. He enjoyed the waters of the Florida Keys and renovating his Ford Fairlane. He loved his big boy "Dallas" who was his companion during his bold and inspiring battle with cancer. Jack will be remembered for his willingness to help all those he knew and his unique sense of humor which he had to the end.

A service will be held at 4 p.m. on July 14, 2013, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Key West, Florida. Burial will take place at the Key West Cemetery following the service.
