Beware of threatening utility calls
Scammers say they'll cut electricity without immediate cash payment

If someone calls threatening to cut power to your home or business, it's a scam.

Both Florida Keys-based electric utilities have reported calls to customers in which scammers demand immediate cash payment under the threat of leaving them in the dark, said Monroe County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Deputy Becky Herrin.
