John Donovan Cruz, 75, of Key West, Fla., passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at Lower Keys Medical Center. He was born on Aug. 14, 1937, in Key West to the late Harold and Carolyn (Albury) Cruz. Donovan worked as a plumber for Gary's Plumbing. He was a member of the Plumbers Union 519 for 45 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and cooking.

Surviving are his wife, Orquidia Cruz of Key West; sons, John H. (Jane) Cruz of Key West and Argelio (Deborah) Cruz of Winter Springs, Fla.; sister, Edna (Tommy) Dickey; grandchildren, Ashley Yaccarino, Brooke M. Cruz, Sydnee H. Cruz, Carley Perez, Heath Calfee, Hunter Williams, Marty Williams and Christopher Malloy; great-grandchildren, James Yaccarino, Rylee Malloy, Kaleb Malloy, India Perez and Andrew Perez.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, July 12, 2013, at the Dean-Lopez Funeral Home, 418 Simonton St., Key West. Burial will be in the Key West City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 12, 2013, until service time at 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

The Dean-Lopez Funeral Home is entrusted with all funeral arrangements.
