Robert E. Price, 56, of Key West, Fla., passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at Lower Keys Medical Center. He was born on Aug. 10, 1956, in Miami, Fla., to Walter F. and Ardel (Parman) Price.

Robert was a lifetime resident of Key West and a member of the Key West Rotary Club. He was a coach at Key West High School for six years. He was instrumental in starting the Southernmost Runners Club and Cross Country Track at Key West High School.

On April 14, 2002, Robert sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of a motorcycle accident. Robert was determined to run again, and with the inspiration he received from others and his positive attitude, he was able to overcome his injuries.

He always had a positive influence on young people.

He was preceded in death by his father, Walter F. Price.

Surviving is his mother, Ardel Price; son Adam Price; sister Nancy Price Leach; nephew Mark (Jennifer) Leach; great-nephew Kane Austin Leach; great-niece Victoria Loren Leach; and numerous cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, July 15, 2013, at Peace Covenant Presbyterian Church, 2610 Flagler Ave., Key West. Visitation will be the same day, also at the church, from 2 p.m. until service time.Burial will be at Southern Keys Cemetery, on Big Coppitt Key.
