KENNETH R. MILLER

KENNETH R. MILLER, 78, LONGTIME RESIDENT OF KEY WEST, FLA., PASSED AWAY PEACEFULLY ON MONDAY, JULY 15, 2013, AT HIS RESIDENCE IN KEY WEST. HE WAS BORN ON SEPT. 27, 1934, IN PHILADELPHIA, PA., TO THE LATE ARTHUR AND MARGARET MILLER.

KEN SERVED IN THE ARMY. HE WAS STATIONED IN GERMANY FOR THREE YEARS AS A CRYPTOGRAPHER. HE RETURNED TO PHILADELPHIA, WHERE HE SERVED AS THE VICE PRESIDENT FOR STONE AND WEBSTER ENGINEERING. IN 1967, KEN MET HIS LIFE PARTNER, PAUL TAGLIAFERRI, AND THEY RESIDED TOGETHER FOR THE PAST 46 YEARS. KEN WAS BOTH AN ACCOMPLISHED PIANIST AND CLASSICAL SINGER. HE WAS A GUEST PERFORMER AT MANY POPULAR RESORTS IN THE POCONOS. KEN AND PAUL MOVED TO KEY WEST 17 YEARS AGO AND TOGETHER OPERATED THE PALM COURT GUESTHOUSE ON ELIZABETH STREET, ONE OF OLD TOWN'S HISTORIC LANDMARKS. KEN VOLUNTEERED HIS TIME AS ONE OF THE FIRST COOKS AT THE METROPOLITAN COMMUNITY CHURCH COOKING WITH LOVE PROGRAM.

SURVIVING IS HIS PARTNER, PAUL TAGLIAFERRI OF KEY WEST; BROTHERS ARTHUR AND RICHARD MILLER; NIECES AND NEPHEWS VICTORIA ANDERSON, BRANDY LAVIN, CHRISTOPHER MILLER, JASON MILLER AND RICHARD MILLER JR.

MEMORIAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 2 P.M. TODAY, SATURDAY, JULY 20, 2013, AT THE DEAN-LOPEZ FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 418 SIMONTON ST., KEY WEST. THE DEAN-LOPEZ FUNERAL HOME IS ENTRUSTED WITH ALL FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS.
