Credit union offers furlough solutions

If you have been affected by sequestration, Keys Federal Credit Union offers the following solutions:

• Skip Payment: Skip one payment on an existing Keys loan for no additional fee.

• Penalty-free withdrawal on Share Certificates: Withdraw funds from your existing Keys Share Certificate without penalty.

• Review other debt: We may be able to help you reduce your monthly expenses.

• Sequester Loan: Borrow up to $5,000 at 1 percent APR• for 36 months. Subject to eligibility.

Your first payment will be deferred until Sept. 1, 2013.

To be eligible for furlough assistance, a copy of your furlough notification letter will be required. And, if you are currently not a member of Keys Federal Credit Union, we ask that you open a membership with us.

Rotary welcomes new board

The Key Largo Rotary Club celebrated the incoming, and honored the outgoing board of directors at the 2013-2014 installation banquet. More than 50 members and guests celebrated at the Bayside Grille. Brew on the Bay Chairman Ted Dreaver, was honored as the Club's Rotarian of the Year. Katrina Lavene was praised for her dedication as the outgoing president and Donny Fanelli was honored as the club's Rookie of the Year. The new board of directors includes Jennifer Miller, president; Nancy Alvarez, president-elect; Cris Beaty, secretary and Amy Pierson, treasurer.
