County wants summit on homeless
Growing costs of open-container violations hit multiple sectors: jail, hospital, courts

A pair of Key West homeless men were jailed Monday night for knocking back some Hurricane High Gravity malt liquor from silver cans in the stairwell of the Park N' Ride garage at Caroline and Grinnell streets.

"We are not hurting anyone, we are hiding and drinking our beer," Kirt Kangas, 43, pleaded with the officer, according to the police report.
