Flats fishing: trolling motor or push pole

There is something special about poling a boat quietly along, searching for fish tailing in shallow water. It is a tried and true tradition among flats guides and when skillfully performed allows fishermen a stealthy approach to always vigilant game fish. Most captains still prefer poling, as it has always been a far superior method when compared to the whirring of an electric trolling motor.
