Student numbers up so far
But final tally will be after Labor Day

Enrollment in Monroe County schools is up by about 245 students, according to Superintendent Mark Porter, which may lead to hiring additional teachers to meet the demand.

Porter revealed the increase during his report at Tuesday evening's School Board meeting at Coral Shores High School in Tavernier.
