Spend county money on needs, not wants

Looks like it's time once again for the ghost of Hickory House, like Marley's ghost in Dickens' "A Christmas Carol," to rattle its chains in front of the Monroe County Commission, as a ghostly reminder of the consequences of reckless use of taxpayer money.

Today's version of Hickory House reincarnated is the county's potential plan to acquire the Old Seven Mile Bridge.
