Robert "Bobby" Budakian, 83, passed away peacefully at home on Sept. 14, 2013 after a long illness.

Robert, a 40-plus-year resident and business owner in Key West, was born and raised in Niagra Falls, N.Y., and was an Army veteran. He was an honorary Conch. Bobby was loved and respected by all who knew him.

He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law Jack and Marie Budakian; nephews and niece John Budakian, MaryAlice Budakian-Kinsella and her husband Keith, Jamie Budakian, and Robert Budakian; his grandnieces Sasha Budakian, Jackie Kinsella, and Nicole Kinsella. Also left behind is his devoted caretaker and close friend Rena Mobely, along with close friends Mundy Parra, Patrick Mobly, Bobby Toughill.

A celebration of his life will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, at Havana One Restaurant, 1101 Truman Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to VNA & Hospice of the Florida Keys in Robert Budakian's name. Dean-Lopez Funeral Home is entrusted with all funeral arrangements.
