Schools: So long, unpaid days
District employees will get back pay

Monroe County Superintendent of Schools Mark Porter will recommend that the School Board vote to eradicate the seven furlough days for all district employees, effective immediately.

Should the board follow Porter's lead, the cost-saving measure, first introduced in 2011, will become a bad memory for the School District's approximately 940 workers.
