Paula Victoria "Nani" Monzon, 64, of Key West, Fla., passed away on Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, at Key West Health and Rehabilitation.

She was born on June 29, 1949, in Key West to the late Elpidio and Ramona Mercedes (Sanchez) Santiago.

She was a lifetime resident of Key West and a second-generation Conch. Paula worked at El Siboney for 25 years and was a member of The Basilica of St. Mary Star of the Sea. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Surviving is her husband, Jose Antonio Monzon of Key West; children, Margret (Wiljen) Lara of Key West, Kenneth Joe (Shirley) Jarrells Jr. of Key West and Rachel (Franklin) Jean-Mary of Key West; sister Sofia Davis of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; brother-in-law Tom Carlson of Virginia; grandchildren, Yanaiz Morales, Yessenia Morales, Yasmin Lara, Yleana Lara, Tammy Peters, Lisette Jarrells, Joey Jarrells III, Jessica Key, Steven Key Jr., Anthony Key and Brianna Jean-Mary; and great-grandchildren Lilly, Caroline and Kailey-Anne Peters.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Anita Carlson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, at The Basilica of St. Mary Star of the Sea. Burial will be in the Key West City Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, at the Dean-Lopez Funeral Home, 418 Simonton St., Key West.

The Dean-Lopez Funeral Home is entrusted with all funeral arrangements.
