Square One hosts musical evening
Music and food will combine when the South Florida Symphony Orchestra presents the Blue Door String Quartet in "Sumptuous Serenade," an evening of classical music, culinary delights and art at 6:30 p.m., Monday, at Square One restaurant, 1075 Duval St. in Key West.
In an effort to reach a wider audience, the South Florida Symphony is initiating "Tropical Beats," a new series of musical excursions, exporting classical music from a traditional concert setting to a smaller and more intimate experience.
The evening will begin with a champagne reception and include a four-course meal, musical performance and dessert.
"By presenting classical music outside the concert hall in a more casual and intimate atmosphere, people become more comfortable with this type of music," said symphony CEO Jacqueline Lorber.
Tickets are $105. Call 954-522-8445, or visit www.southfloridasymphony.org.
