Valente Isidoro Zamora, 89, of Key West, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, at Key West Health & Rehabilitation. He was born on July 26, 1924, in Guanabacoa, Cuba, to the late Isidoro and Teresa Gutierrez Zamora.

Valente came from Cuba in 1971. He was employed at Kino Sandals in Key West until his retirement. He was a beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Surviving are his sons Frank (Anita) Zamora and Daniel Zamora, both of Key West; daughter Olga L. Zamora Turner of Charleston, S.C.; grandchildren Frank (Brittany) Zamora Jr. of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Jerika (Luis) Rodriguez of Miami, Fla., Jason Zamora of Key West, Fla., Barbara and Christine Turner, both of Charleston, S.C.; great-grandchildren Connor and Palmer Zamora of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Emilee and Sophia Rodriguez of Miami, Fla.

Valente was preceded in death by his wife Deisa Zamora; brothers Luis Zamora and Juan (Antonio) Zamora; and sister Maria Sierra.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, October 19, 2013, at the Dean-Lopez Funeral Home, 418 Simonton St. Visitation is from 2 p.m. until the service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Key West Cemetery.

The Dean-Lopez Funeral Home is entrusted with all funeral arrangements.
