MARATHON -- The Southernmost Chapter of the Experimental Aircraft Association is sponsoring Aviation Day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at the Florida Keys Marathon Airport.
A variety of antique and general aviation planes, along with military aircraft, will be on display. The Southernmost Car Club will feature an auto show. Hamburgers, hot dogs and drinks will be available.
Children ages 8 to 17 can experience a free Young Eagles introductory flight, which opens the door for more aviation exploration. They receive a flight log and certificate along with coupons for future flight training.
Local pilots volunteer their time, airplane and fuel. These flights are made available at no charge, but a parent or guardian must sign a permission form.
No advanced registration is required. The Southernmost Chapter of the Experimental Aircraft Association's members include military, commercial and general aviation pilots and enthusiasts.
