Zecca changes plea in murder-for-hire

A former Islamorada Coast Guard commander facing life in prison in a murder-for-hire plot will likely plead guilty or no contest to the crime next week in Miami.

Retired Chief Warrant Officer Dennis Zecca is scheduled to change his not guilty plea before U.S. District Judge Jose E. Martinez on Nov. 14, according to court records filed this week.
