Gerald R. Campbell, 87, of Key West, Fla., passed away peacefully at home on Nov. 7, 2013.

He was born Sept. 19, 1926, in London, Ontario, Canada, to the late Jim and Carrie Campbell. He was predeceased by his brother Jimmy Campbell. He is survived by his nephew Stephen Campbell of Brockville, Ontario, and nieces Sheila Campbell and Patricia Campbell Hatton, both of Toronto, Canada. He is also survived by great nieces and nephews, Jorden, Karen, Allison, Jennifer, Christopher, Jessica and Oliver; dear friends Stacey Hannah and Tom Murtha; and longtime friend, Zaida Rankin.

Gerald moved to Key West from New York City in 1989 after a long career with IBM. He had a lifelong passion for acting and in his retirement years performed at Key West's Red Barn, Waterfront and Tennessee Williams theaters. He was a member of the Metropolitan Community Church. In addition to acting, Gerald will be remembered for the homes he built and his masterful bridge playing.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
