Utility discount available

Enrollment for Keys Energy Services' (KEYS) discount program for qualifying senior citizens or disabled American veterans who are residential customers is now open.

Applications will be accepted until March 31. Customers who have previously participated in the program must re-qualify. Once qualified, customers will receive a $9.53 discount on their monthly energy bills in 2014.

New applicants may pick up a form by going to KEYS' offices, 1001 James St., visiting www.keysenergy.com/forms/SrCitizenDiscountApp.pdf, or calling 305-295-1090.

Grant applications accepted

The Old Island Restoration Foundation (OIRF) is accepting grant applications for projects that would help preserve the architectural and/or cultural history of the city. An amount of up to $22,500 is available for distribution. Applications will be accepted between Dec. 16 and Jan. 16. Eligibility is limited to individuals and tax-exempt entities for projects located in Key West. OIRF reserves the right to fully, partially, or not fund any proposals as circumstances and budget dictate.

Veneto exhibit at library

"Il Veneto di Hemingway," a photo exhibit that reconstructs the Veneto through Hemingway's experience there, will be presented from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Monroe County Library branch in Key West, at 700 Fleming St.

The exhibit includes photos from Hemingway's stays in Italy from 1948 to 1954. It is a project of Venice International University with the support of the Veneto Region. It is presented in Florida by Societa Dante Alighieri.
