April 8, 1924 to Dec. 17, 2013

Rose Mildred Bradley peacefully went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents, Viola and Eldridge Trott; her husband, Phil Bradley; and her brothers and sisters.

Rose was born in Baltimore, Md., and came to Key West in 1959. She was an outgoing lady who loved time with her family and friends. In her early years in Key West, she was an active member of the VFW. Spending time with her son, Donald, and his wife, Joyce, was something she looked forward to, and she loved her shopping excursions with Mary. Her greatest enjoyment came from being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as they grew up.

"Granny" was there after school to watch them, fix snacks and cheer them on at sporting events. Those who knew her will remember her smile, her wit and her loving support.

She is survived by her son, Donald Preston (Joyce); former daughter-in-law Mary Chase (Bill); grandchildren Donnie Preston (Maria), Tiffany Freeman (John Hughes), Neda Preston (Michael Jackson), Jodi Kenna (Dan); great-grandchildren Blaine and Jada Preston, Andrew and Cade Freeman, Zachary, Carson, Garrett and Luke Hughes, Michael, Matthew and Macy Kenna; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the Key West Rehabilitation Center for their care in Rose's final days. There will be a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at Dean-Lopez Funeral Home. There will be a service at 3 p.m Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at The Basilica of St. Mary Star of the Sea. The family invites friends to gather following the service at the home of Neda Preston, 26 Seventh Ave. Dean-Lopez Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
