Fire destroys trailer
Monroe County Fire Rescue firefighters from Sugarloaf and Cudjoe Key put out a 7:11 a.m. Thursday fire at the Lazy Lakes R.V. Resort located at Mile Marker 20 at 311 Johnson Road, said Chief Jim Callahan.
There was no one inside the fifth wheel at the time of the fire, Callahan said. The people living in the trailer were visiting family out of state at the time.
An electrical issue appears to be the culprit, but the fire marshal was still investigating as of Thursday afternoon, Callahan said.
