Mayberry sworn in as president

Doug Mayberry was recently sworn in as president of the Key West Association of Realtors. He has previously served as president-elect and chairman of the committee's Professional Standards Committee, according to the Doug Mayberry Real Estate website.

He announced that his goals for the association in 2014 would include improving the educational opportunities for members as well as the community involvement of the organization.

Mayberry said he knows that by supporting community involvement and activism he can help homeownership in Key West.

It also gives him an opportunity to network with other Realtors in Key West, statewide and nationally and helps build his referral network for listings.

The association and its members support many activities in the community, including a scholarship fund for Key West High School seniors going on to college.

KW Chamber honors nursing home

The Key West Chamber of Commerce recently presented a special award to the Key West Health and Rehabilitation Center on Stock Island.

The nursing home and rehab center houses 93 residents, employs more than 100 people and recently received a spotless evaluation from state inspectors who found zero deficiencies at the facility, which replaced the former facility after a multi-million dollar renovation. Administrator Susan Dufresne accepted the award.
