Bettye Lorraine Pryor, 79, of Cumberland, died Friday, Jan. 3, 2014 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.

Born July 28, 1934 in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Russell Haines and Grace (Jenkins) Haines.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond E. Pyror; and, two brothers, Russell "Ed" Haines and Jack Jenkins.

Mrs. Pryor was retired from the Allegany County Board of Education, having served as a school bus driver for the special needs students.

She was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church; Ladies Auxiliary of Henry Hart Post #1411, V.F.W., Fort Cumberland Post #13, American Legion, and the Cumberland Outdoor Club. She enjoyed the GEM Bowling League and shot Horse Caller Shuffleboard. Bettye was also an avid football fan.

Survivors include her two sons, Rick Pryor, and wife Diane, Cumberland, and Doug Pryor, Key West; one daughter, Vicki Pryor Weaver, and her husband Ernie, Ridgeley, W.Va.; four grandchildren, David Lancaster, and wife Ronda, Jason Lancaster, and wife Marcy, Nicholas Pryor, and Gretchen Pryor; and five great grandchildren, Jacob Lancaster, Hayden Lancaster, Carson Luther, Akeria Weaver, and Ayden Pryor.

A committal service will be conducted in the Chapel at Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery at 1 p.m. Wednesday, with Rev. Richard Jewell, officiating.

Interment will follow at MSVC-Rocky Gap.

The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Shriners' Hospital for Children, 551 N. Broad St., Philadelphia, Pa. 19140
