KEY WEST

Memorial honors local legend

A memorial gathering will celebrate the life of Marilyn "Chicken" Moyer from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at The Green Parrot Bar.

Moyer lost her battle with cancer at the end of 2013 after living and working in Key West for 39 years, tending bar at such places as the Full Moon Saloon, The Chart Room, Louie's Backyard and for the past 12-plus years at the Green Parrot Bar.

Chicken's many friends have gathered photos from the years and will have them on display at the event Saturday. There will also be a pizza toast to Moyer. All are welcome.

Federal court officials never make requests for payment of fines from jurors over the telephone, according to a press release.

Those contacted by anyone requesting such payments on behalf of the court are asked to not make the payment and immediately contact the Southern District of Florida Jury section at 800-865-1775 or 305- 523-5190.
