Volunteers keep police horses on patrol
Key West's Mounted Unit has plenty for volunteers to do

It's noon on a crisp Thursday morning, and Tonja Wadsworth is engaged in one of her favorite pursuits: horseback riding. Today Wadsworth is taking police horse Chief through an obstacle course, which helps to desensitize the animals so they learn to ignore distractions on the street.
