Homeless census training

An additional volunteer training session for the Jan. 28 Point In Time census of homeless men, women and children in Florida Keys is set for 10 a.m. Monday at 2221 Patterson Ave.

The Point in Time is a national survey of the homeless that allows communities to apply for funding for services and create plans to help the unsheltered. About 100 volunteers fanned out across the Keys last year for the census.

For information, call 305-294-0304, or email to fkocwomen@comcast.net.

Strip club lot robbery reported

A 23-year-old Key West man remained jailed Wednesday in lieu of $25,000 on suspicion of a robbery that took place outside a strip club last week.

Chad Rupp was arrested Friday after an employee and a cab driver told police they saw him commit the robbery, an incident report stated.

A Swedish tourist told police a man punched him in the face and stole $3,700 worth of camera equipment he was wearing around his neck.

The 34-year-old Swede was drunk, police said, and was treated at the scene, the parking lot of Bare Assets, 1029 Truman Ave. at 4 a.m. Friday.
