Saturday triathlon traffic hot spots

FLORIDA KEYS: If you are in the Lower Florida Keys from 7 a.m. to noon Saturday, here are the traffic hot spots to avoid and times to avoid them:

• The transition area is the main hub of the event. Traffic between White Street Pier and the Casa Marina will be closed off to vehicles from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

• Motorists wishing to travel from Flagler to South Roosevelt Boulevard will experience delays. Also, motorists traveling from South Roosevelt towards Atlantic Boulevard will be delayed. This intersection will not be shut down; however, delays will occur here as competitors travel through this intersection. Traffic delays are probable from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

• The intersection will be a hot spot from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. during the peak time for cyclists traffic. From 1:30 to 5 p.m. there will be cyclists coming through intermittently, which will cause minor delays.

• The intersection of Middle Torch and U.S. 1 is a traffic hot spot from 8:30 to 11:50 a.m. with the peak of cyclists traffic between 9:45 to 11:50 a.m.
