• Robert Dopp, Fred H. Mathews and John Van Slckie were named as members of the board to investigate the Key West police and fire departments. The city manager and attorney also served on the board.

• Key West Fire Chief Cremata went on the retirement list at noon.

• Key West Police Chief George G. Gomez resigned effective 5 p.m.

• During ceremonies at the County Courthouse, Monroe County Mayor Gerald Saunders presented Rear Admiral and Mrs. Louis J. Kirn "Honorary Conch" plaques.

• The Nu-Age Construction Co., builders of the new Key West City Hall, promised to continue to cooperate with the city in clearing up numerous complaints about the structure.

• Coral Shores School received its charter as a member of the National Honor Society.
