Paul V. Tagliaferri, 77, longtime resident of Key West, Florida passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at his residence in Key West. He was born on May 7, 1936 in Manahoy, Pennsylvania to the late Adeline Cirilli and Candido Tagliaferri.

Paul received his Bachelor of Science from Villanova University and his Master of Business Administration from the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School. He served as the Director of Finance for the Sanitation Department for the City of Philadelphia for 30 years. He was cherished for his civic-minded volunteer work in Philadelphia where he was commonly known as "St. Paul." In 1967, Paul met his life partner, Ken Miller, who resided with him for 46 years. Ken, an accomplished pianist and classical singer, passed away last summer on July 15, 2013. Paul and Ken moved to Key West 18 years ago and together they have operated the Palm Court Guesthouse on Elizabeth Street, one of Old Town's historic landmarks.

While a resident in Key West, Paul was a member of the Metropolitan Community Church and he continued to be passionately committed to civic duties. He served on the Key West Town Planning Board and he was a generous supporter and friend for the past 18 years to the non-profit organization, Anchor's Aweigh Club, where he served on the board of directors and was the chairman of the finance committee for over eight years. In his role as a community leader and philanthropist, Paul frequently spearheaded fundraising events to elevate social services in Key West and was also ready to serve as a friend-in-need at all times. He will be long remembered by his family and community for his intellect, generosity, leadership, exceptional sense of humor and exemplary life-long loving partnership with Ken Miller.

Surviving Paul Tagliaferri is his sister, Antoinette "Toni" Ruggieri, brother and sister-in-law, Lee and Maryellen Tagliaferri, and nieces and nephews, Tony Monzo, Fred Monzo, Michael Monzo, Mary Monzo, Michelle Monzo, David Monzo, Dawn Monzo, Mark Tagliaferri, John Tagliaferri and Mary Tagliaferri.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the Dean-Lopez Funeral Home Chapel located at 418 Simonton Street, Key West. In lieu of flowers donations maybe given to Anchor's Aweigh Club, Inc. The Dean-Lopez Funeral Home is entrusted with all funeral arrangements.
