The Army Missile Battalion had open house of the headquarters at the Casa Marina Hotel and the missile site on Fleming Key, which was visited by buses from the hotel.

The Old Island Restoration Foundation announced that it had completed the Pelican Path, a free self-guided tour of Key West's Old Town.

William Wright, a member of the Presbyterian Church, received the Boy Scout God and County award. It took one year to complete the requirements for the award.

Captain Gainey Maxell was installed as president of the Key West Charter Boat Association. The other officers were Clyde Montgomery, vice president; Ted Smits, secretary; and Tommy Lones, treasurer.

The First National Bank of the Upper Keys in Tavernier had an open housing prior to opening for business Feb. 16.
