Peck joins credit union

Keys Federal Credit Union recently announced the addition of Dave Peck, residential loan consultant, to the Middle and Upper Keys mortgage team. Peck is a former Realtor with an understanding of and empathy for real estate agents and their clients.

In his new role, Peck will work closely with members to expedite their closing and find the most affordable and beneficial loan products for their needs. He will also partner with local Realtors to enhance their clients' home-buying experience.

Peck and his wife of 33 years, Kim, moved to the Keys from East Lansing, Mich. in 2003 to spend more time boating and fishing. Prior to their relocation, he was a realtor, home builder, mortgage loan originator and mortgage production manager for Citizens Financial Group. He holds a bachelors degree from Michigan State University and a GRI (Graduate Realtor Institute). Peck will be based out of the Marathon branch.

Mariners Hospital honors Smith

Mandi Smith, a registered nurse in the medical/surgical unit of Mariners Hospital, has been named the 2014 Preceptor of the Year for Mariners Hospital in Tavernier. Preceptors are knowledgeable, experienced professionals who provide coaching and guidance to nursing students and nurses who are new to either the industry or the health care center. Smith was lauded by her students and peers as a role model, teacher and mentor. "Mandi is an amazing example of what a nurse should be. She is compassionate, organized and calm and collected even when situations get tough," said a fellow nurse.

Warren celebrates decade with First State

First State Bank of the Florida Keys recently congratulated Ann Warren, special assets administrative assistant, on her 10th employment anniversary at the bank.

Warren was hired at in 2004 as a call center representative and was promoted to safe deposit box custodian in 2005; to customer service representative in 2007 and then transferred in 2011 to the special assets department, where she works as administrative assistant.

"For a decade Ann has continually demonstrated professionalism, dedication and a commitment to our internal and external customers," said John Detwiler, vice president/special assets manager.

Warren and her husband live in Key West.
