5 boaters rescued

The Coast Guard rescued five people, including a 4-year-old girl, when their 20-foot pleasure craft was swamped with water and capsized due to motor failure Sunday.

No serious injuries were reported. The boat was located near the reef.

Those aboard had life jackets, flares and a working VHF radio that greatly helped in the 11 a.m. rescue, said Coast Guard spokesman Lt. Peter Bermont.
