Mirta Garcia, 82, of Cape Coral, Fla. passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral, Fla. She was born on March 9, 1932. She was a lifelong resident of Key West. She and her husband owned Robert Garcia Jewelry since 1968.

She is preceded in death by her father Tomas Perez, mother Delia Perez, sisters Migdelia Palomino and Melida Perez.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years Julian (Roberto) Garcia of Cape Coral, Fla.; son Robert (Carmen) Garcia of Cape Coral, Fla.; daughter Luisa "Mirtica" (Daniel) Perez, of Miami, Fla.; grandchildren Daniel "DJ" (Michelle) Perez; Jennifer N. "Jeni" Perez; Robert Phillip Garcia and Javier Robert Garcia; greatdaughters Alyssa N. and Hailey D. Perez; brothers Mario (Nora) Perez and Moises (Nilida) Perez.

Mass will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Key West, Fla.

After mass, burial will be held at Key West Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, family request donations be sent in memory of Mirta Garcia to Hope Hospice of Cape Coral FL., 2430 Diplomat Pkwy. East, Cape Coral, FL 33909.

All arrangement are entrusted to Castillo & Thurston's Key West Mortuary and Cremation Center.
