Selmer Donald, 97, a delight to all who knew her passed away peacefully on March 15, 2014 at her home in Slaton, Texas. Selmer was born December 8, 1916 in Montville, Conn. Selmer graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1942 where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi. She worked in the defense department during WW II inspecting Pratt and Whitney Aircraft engines; she was later in the federal office of Price Administration from 1945 to 1946. After the war, Selmer worked for the Fort Worth ISD. She also worked for the University of Connecticut Dean of Admissions. She was a member of the Women's Auxiliary of the American Legion, and was an active member of the Congregational Church in Hebron. Conn. Her husband, Walter Donald, on August 9, 2003 and son, Glenn Donald on August 28, 2005 have preceded her in death.

Her survivors include her daughter, Marjorie Burris of Covina, Calf. and son, Reese Donald of Key West, Fla. along with three grandchildren, Tracy Magnotta of Stafford Springs, Conn., David Donald of Key West, Fla. and German Burris of Covina, Calf. and two great grandchildren, Jake and Jessica Magnotta of Stafford Springs, Conn.

Graveside service will be Monday, March 24, 2014, 11 a.m. at Englund's Funeral Home, 1400 Woodrow Road, Slaton, Texas. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Macular Degeneration Research Foundation.
