Man accused of molestation

A 27-year-old Stock Island man was jailed Tuesday after deputies said he molested a 6-year-old boy.

Robert Morales was jailed on $500,000 bond and faces a felony charge of lewd behavior when the victim is under 12.

The sheriff's office reported deputies responded to a disturbance when a family member of the alleged victim punched Morales over the accusation.

Deputies were told of the molestation allegation.

The boy was not identified by the sheriff's office report, which cited the state law prohibiting it.

Weekley sets Peary meeting

Key West City Commissioner Jimmy Weekley will host a District 1 meeting about plans to redevelop Peary Court next week.

The meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, at the Key West Ferry Terminal off Caroline Street.
