Joseph A. Stettner, Jr. 82, of Key West, Fla. passed away on Wednesday April 9, 2014 at Lower Keys Medical Center. He was born Dec. 2, 1931 in Queens, N.Y.

Joseph was a veteran of the United States Navy. He worked for Southern Bell Telephone company and was a member of the Communication Workers of America, Moose Lodge and a devoted Barbershop Quartet member. He loved fishing, and was an avid Brooklyn Dodgers fan.

Surviving are his wife Madeline Stettner; daughters Janice Stettner (Fred), Karen Mendez (Tony), Joanne Francis (Don), Kathleen Stettner (Steve); brother Robert (Donna) Stettner; grandchildren Jennifer (Rob) Devito, Michelle (Dustin) Edwards, Tony Mendez, William Francis, Jr., Joseph (Lourdes) Francis, Andrew (Danielle) Mendez; Close friend William Francis Jr. He will be loved forever. Rest in peace.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday April 15, 2014 at The Basilica of St. Mary Star of the Sea. Burial will be in Key West City Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2014 at the Dean-Lopez Funeral Home, 418 Simonton St., Key West, Fla. The Dean-Lopez Funeral Home is entrusted with all funeral arrangements.
