Bernstein Park to get new community center
Commissioners agree to spend additional $1.7 M for upgrade

The Monroe County commission agreed Wednesday to spend an additional $1.7 million on upgrading Bernstein Park on Stock Island by placing a 5,000 square foot community center there.

The commission agreed last year to set aside $3.2 million in sales tax revenues to fix up Bernstein Park, but commissioners agreed Wednesday to spend another $1.7 million on the park.
