The deadline to file any BP oil spill-related claims via the Deepwater Horizon Court Supervised Settlement Program is Tuesday.
Any resident who wishes to file a financial compensation claim or file information missing in a claim already filed is urged to do so via their attorney or accountant by midnight on Tuesday, said Key West attorney Clay Ratcliffe.
The class-action lawsuit against BP is still before federal appellate courts and it's possible anything filed after Tuesday could be void via statute of limitations laws should BP prevail, Ratcliffe said.
That includes residents of Monroe County as well as Florida and the entire Gulf Coast. Those wishing to file a claim without an attorney can do so at deepwaterhorizonsettlements.com.
