Marjorie G. Barrett, 97, of Key West, Florida passed away peacefully in her home at sunrise on Easter Sunday morning, April 20, 2014. She was born on February 28, 1917 in Key West, Florida to the late C. Rodney Gwynn and Regla Busto Gwynn. She was a graduate of the Convent of Mary Immaculate in 1933.

Marjorie is predeceased by her husband, Stanley J. Barrett and her son, Michael S. Barrett. Marjorie was a member of the Basilica of St. Mary's, the Catholic Daughters of America and the Key West Garden Club. She was once known to be the fastest typist in Key West and managed the La Concha Hotel during the 1960's.

Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Christine Bollong; granddaughter, Meredith (Michael Minkhin) Bollong; grandson, Capt. Mark (Audrey) Bollong, USN; grandson Brian Barrett; three great-grandchildren, Remy, Will and Katya Bollong; sister, Sylvia Artman; niece, Marcia (Thomas) Sireci; two nephews, Gregory Artman and Ronald (Janet) Artman; former son-in-law, Jurgen Bollong; cousins, Belva (Sissy) McDonald and John (Mozel) Busto of Charlotte, N.C. and many dear friends and relatives.

A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, April 28, 2014 at 10 a.m. at the Basilica of St. Mary's. The Dean-Lopez Funeral home is entrusted with all funeral arrangements.
