StayFit honors Stones

StayFit Studio congratulates Ginny Stones as the recipient of the "Fit Member of the Month" award.

"Ginny is a valued member of our StayFit family," said Raquel Robbins-McCarthy, StayFit Studio owner. "We truly applaud her hard work and positive energy."

Stay Fit created the award to recognize outstanding members who are well-rounded, show determination, consistency and commitment to her/his goals and health. .

Housing Authority honors Cater, Sing for 15 years of service

At the April Housing Authority board meeting, Tina Cater and William Sing were recognized by the board of commissioners for their 15 years of service.

Cater was originally hired as the secretary for the director of technical services and now serves as the executive assistant for the executive director.

Cater was elected by her peers as Employee of the Year in 2005, and Employee of the First Quarter of 2014.

Also celebrating 15 years of service is William Sing, director of procurement.

Sing's background as a master chief in the U. S. Navy has served him well in the various purchasing and supply positions he has held with the Housing Authority.

deYoung Joins First State Bank

First State Bank of the Florida Keys recently welcomed David deYoung as facilities officer.

deYoung brings more than 25 years of construction, renovation and project management experience. He has held positions such as project manager for Redco Construction, in addition to operating his own construction and maintenance company.

He holds a bachelors degree from Eastern Illinois University and has been in the Keys since 1987.

"We welcome David to our First State Bank family and are confident his experience in project management and construction will be a valuable addition to our bank," said Karen Sharp, First State Bank president and CEO.
