Commission to look at benefits

The Monroe County Commission meets today to adopt new wage and benefit packages for its employees.

The county recently conducted a wage study for its employees.

The study found that some of the employees should be making more money, County Administrator Roman Gastesi said.

The commission will decide whether to immediately give 51 employees a moderate raise.

Those eligible for the raise are about 45 employees who make less than $50,000 a year and six that make slightly more than $50,000 a year, Gastesi said.

The commission meets at 1 p.m. today at the Harvey Government Center, 1200 Truman Ave.
