On Apr. 29, 2014, at the age of 83, Mary Gertrude Roberts joined her beloved late husband Will in heaven.

Mary was born on Aug. 1, 1930 in Key West to Edmund Collins Mallory and Elma Mallory. After graduating from Miami Senior High School, she worked at Southern Bell as a telephone operator. She married Will Roberts on October 26, 1950. They made their home in Key West and together they raised three children: Debra, Gale, and Richard.

After Will's retirement from the Civil Service in 1973, Mary helped turn his secondary career and his passion as an electrician into a business, thus establishing Roberts Electric and later Roberts and Sons, Electric. In addition to keeping the company's records and billings in order, Mary never hesitated to join Will out the field to wire and service electrical systems in homes and businesses throughout the city.

Mary is survived by her children Debra (Ronald) Leonard, Gale (Steven) Faulkner, Richard (Penny) Roberts; sisters Madge DeLuca, Patsy Perez; sister-in-law Maude Reynolds; nephews Gregory Reynolds and Dwayne Reynolds; nieces Tammy Ferguson and Catherine Butler; grandchildren Steven (Martha) Leonard, Christopher (Amber) Leonard, Jason (Danielle) Leonard, Britton (Michael) Haas, Brandon Roberts and Travis (Brandie) Roberts; and great-grandchild Angelina Leonard.

Memorial services will be held at Old Stone Methodist Church on Mon., May 5 at 4 p.m. followed by a graveside service at the Key West Cemetery.
