Thomas Lucas, 73 died on March 21, 2014 in St. Augustine, Florida. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on February 6, 1942 to the late John Thomas Lucas and Bertha Jakubowski Lucas.

After high school, Tom joined the United States Navy where he served 2 tours of duty. After his service, he and a Navy friend opened a travel agency. He led tours to Europe and in many cities in the U.S. When the agency was sold, he moved to Florida, living in several locales until he discovered Key West. He became a painter (Painter Tom) and lived on his sailboat for almost 30 years.

Tom was an avid reader who went through two newspapers a day and a book a week. He had a special place in his heart for children and animals and they all loved him. His favorite holiday Thanksgiving - for the turkey!

He leaves behind a multitude of friends and loved ones who will miss his caustic wit and flair for drama as well as his willingness to help anyone at any time.

Tom's ashes will be scattered at sea at a later date.
