A unique landing

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating after a Piper Aztec airplane landed at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Florida Keys Marathon Airport with no landing gear, said Monroe County Airports Director Peter Horton.

There were two people aboard and no injuries reported, Horton said.

The plane had been coming from Homestead and filed a flight plan.

The Florida Highway Patrol was the initial investigating agency pending the FAA's arrival and review of the incident.
