100-unit hotel clears first hurdle
Project joins efforts aimed at revitalizing Stock Island

A proposed 100-unit hotel on Stock Island cleared its first hurdle on Wednesday as the Monroe County Planning Commission gave its approval to the conceptual plan.

The proposed hotel -- along with a commercial fish house, restaurant, tiki bar and rum distillery -- at Stock Island Marina Village will next go before the county commission when it meets July 16 in Key West.
