VA probe hits home with Keys veterans
Long wait for appointments; short staffed at local clinic

Bill Cooper, a Vietnam War veteran who lives in Marathon, says he doesn't get sick. "I've only been sick twice in my life," he said. "I had the flu 25 years ago."

But in January when he injured his Achilles tendon, it was painful enough to prompt Cooper to call up the Key West outpatient clinic run by the Veterans Health Administration.
