The Florida Industrial Commission Advisory Council met at the Holiday Inn. Subjects discussed at the meeting were Florida's Workmen's Compensation law and the statewide safety program.

Former Key West City Commissioner Bill Chappell was awarded a law degree from Stetson University College of Law.

Father James Aymong, who was ordained to the priesthood last Saturday in California, celebrated mass at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Father Aymong was born in Key West.

The Navy was building a new bridge to connect the Naval Air Station's Trumbo Annex with Fleming Key.

Commander Horace Riley Jr. replaced Commander James W. Perkins as executive officer of the Naval Station.
